7 Curvy celebrities whom women love

These Curvy celebrities are loved by all women across the globe
You’ve got to admire curvy celebrities, who have to regularly deal with people’s criticisms of their body, and defend their eating habits that the tabloids love to pick apart. It’s a shame that there isn’t more work for fuller figured actors, actresses, and singers – and that those who do get parts in films tend to be typecast in a certain role, such as the ‘comedic best friend’. Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop us from admiring our favourite celebrities, and rooting for them.
Want to know who are UK’s favourite curvy celebrities? Over 2,000 UK residents participated in a poll and cast their votes for their favourite plus size celebrities – and here are the results:
#1: Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson might have broken out in the scene for a shorter period of time as compared to some of the other celebs on this list, but the effervescent Australian actress is well-loved by curvy UK women and other fans worldwide.
Other than acting and hosting, the entrepreneurial starlet also launched a plus size fashion line in 2013. Termed “Fat Mandi”, her label’s best-sellers consist of cheeky, fun t-shirts with cupcakes and doughnuts printed across the wearer’s chest.
#2: Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy, often touted as the “queen of slapstick humour”, is one multi-talented individual. She first gained nationwide recognition for her role in Gilmore Girls, but since then, she’s gone on to do a host of other things apart from acting, including writing, producing, and launching her own plus size fashion line, Seven7.
“A good portion of women in America are size 14 and higher,” says Melissa. “I just try to make clothing that’ll make all women feel really good.”
#3: Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson, who won the first season of American Idol, has an extremely nonchalant and down to earth attitude about her weight. “I don’t obsess about my weight,” the 34 year old singer and songwriter says, adding that this is probably one of the reasons why other people have “such a problem with it.”
According to Kelly, she takes life as it comes and makes it a point not to get too stressed up about her weight. “Sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing, hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t, and I’m like … I’d rather have wine,” says Kelly.

Grammy winning singer and songwriter Adele has always been outspoken and vocal about her weight, and quick to put haters and naysayers in their place. She explains: “I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life.”
According to Galle Paul, Adele’s stylist, the 28 year old singer from London walks the talk. “She’s really okay about the way she looks,” Galle says. “She has tons of confidence – but of course, that boils down to a conscious decision on her part to love her body, and to not overthink her insecurities.”
#5: Queen Latifah

Next on our list of celebrities that plus size UK women love is a household name – Queen Latifah. Growing up, Queen Latifah didn’t have the best childhood – and it’s amazing how she’s managed to work through all her issues, and come so far.
On her turning point, Queen Latifah says: “When I was around 18, I looked in the mirror and said, ‘You’re either going to love yourself or hate yourself.’ And I decided to love myself.” Today, she recognizes that nobody is perfect, and in doing so, reminds herself to love her body and to not succumb to the pressure to be stick-thin.
#6: Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey, certified pop icon and third best selling female artiste in the United States, has had a long history of coming to terms with her weight. But what we love about the diva is that she never compromises on her health in order to shed weight – in fact, after she gave birth to twins in 2011, Mariah famously refused to step on the weighing scale, and took her time losing weight through a series of sustainable workouts.
#7: America Ferrera

America Ferrera, best known for her roles in Ugly Betty and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, is equally adamant on not attributing her worth to her weight. In a move that simultaneously shocked and impressed many in 2010, America talked about how she did not want to lose weight for her upcoming wedding to actor Ryan Piers Williams.
“I don’t really think about (my weight) to be honest. It’s not hard to ignore, because I find it all so ridiculous,” says America.
